Warsaw is gearing up for an unforgettable event as American superstar Taylor Swift takes the stage at PGE Narodowy for three consecutive nights on August 1, 2, and 3. Fans from all over Poland are excited to experience the magic of The Eras Tour, but with great excitement comes great logistical challenges, especially when it comes to getting to and from the concerts.
The Best Way to Get to the Concerts
The Warsaw Public Transport (WTP) is the best option for fans, with the metro being the most convenient way to get to the stadium. On August 1, the metro is particularly recommended due to the city’s celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising.
Changes in Metro Operations
From August 1 to 3, metro line M2 will operate with increased frequency during peak hours to accommodate the large number of concert-goers.
Alternative Transport Options
Fans can also take advantage of the Szybka Kolej Miejska (SKM) and Koleje Mazowieckie trains, which stop near the stadium. Trams and buses crossing the Poniatowski Bridge will also be available. Out-of-town fans can consult a special online guide for detailed information on how to get to the stadium.
Traffic Restrictions
Before each concert, starting from 5:00 PM, access to Saska Kępa will be restricted. From 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM, the areas between Aleja Poniatowskiego, Aleja Waszyngtona, ulica Międzynarodowa, Aleja Stanów Zjednoczonych, and ulica Wał Miedzeszyński, as well as ulica Afrykańska and ulica Bora-Komorowskiego, will be closed to individual traffic. Exceptions will be made for vehicles with SK identifiers, taxis, motorcycles, and WTP buses.
Possible Road Closures
Depending on the situation, the police may decide to close certain streets. In case of a closure on ulica Sokola, ulica Zamoście, and ulica Zamoyskiego, buses on lines 102, 135, 146, 147, 202, and E-1 will be rerouted.
Getting Back Home After the Concerts
After the concerts, around 11:00 PM, the police may close the Poniatowski Bridge and Aleja Jerozolimskie. Trams on line 7 will be diverted via the Śląsko-Dąbrowski Bridge, while lines 9 and 22 will terminate at Plac Starynkiewicza and the Ratuszowa-Zoo loop. Buses on lines 111, 117, 158, 166, 507, 521, N22, N24, and N72 will bypass the closed section of the route via the Łazienkowski Bridge. A replacement line Z-9 will be introduced between Rondo Wiatraczna and Plac Zawiszy.
Additional Transport Measures
After the concerts, additional buses on lines 138 and 509 will be deployed from Rondo Waszyngtona. There will also be more trams on lines 9 and 26. The metro will increase its frequency to accommodate the increased number of passengers, with more frequent trains heading towards Bemowo.
Warsaw is Ready for Taylor Swift
Warsaw is preparing for an epic event with Taylor Swift’s three concerts at PGE Narodowy. To ensure a smooth and safe journey, WTP has introduced various measures to facilitate travel. Fans should take advantage of the metro, trains, trams, and buses to avoid traffic hassles and make the most of their experience with Taylor Swift. Get ready for an unforgettable night!
