In a significant move, PKP Intercity has unified its ticket offer and introduced a new Promo ticket category, covering all trains, including economic IC and TLK classes. From May 5th, passengers will have access to five promotional price levels, with tickets available in various sales channels, including online and at train stations.

This change replaces the previous Wcześniej offer, which only applied to second-class tickets. The new Promo offer encompasses both first and second classes, making it more affordable for passengers to travel in higher standards. The five promotional price levels are:

1. Super Promo: Deep discounts for advance bookings
2. Promo Plus: Lower prices for early bookings
3. Promo 45: 45% off base prices
4. Promo 30: 30% off base prices
5. Promo 15: 15% off base prices

Cheaper Travel Options

With the new Promo offer, passengers can enjoy cheaper travel options, especially on popular routes. For instance, tickets from Warsaw to Krakow, Trójmiasta, Katowice, or Poznan will start from 19 PLN (previously around 40 PLN). Trips from Warsaw to Łódź, Lublin, or Białystok will be available for as low as 14 PLN.

Dynamic Pricing

PKP Intercity’s new pricing strategy is designed to respond to changing travel trends. According to a recent survey, 73% of Poles are open to spontaneous trips, booking with up to a few days’ notice. The company aims to provide real benefits to passengers, encouraging them to choose trains over other transportation modes.

Meeting Passenger Needs

The survey also revealed that 64% of respondents would opt for off-peak travel in response to lower prices. PKP Intercity’s Promo offer caters to this demand, providing affordable tickets for less popular travel dates. While some passengers still prefer to book in advance, others are more flexible and willing to wait for last-minute deals.

Unified and Accessible

The new Promo offer creates a single, uniform system for all PKP Intercity trains, providing passengers with a broader range of options and greater flexibility. Tickets will be available in various sales channels, including online and at train stations, making it easier for passengers to plan and book their trips.

The Future of Rail Travel

PKP Intercity’s strategy is focused on modernizing rail travel in Poland, aligning with European standards. The company plans to introduce more innovations in the coming years, aiming to increase passenger satisfaction and loyalty.

In the words of Tomasz Gontarz, Member of the PKP Intercity Management Board, „Our goal is to provide a real benefit to passengers, encouraging them to choose trains as their preferred mode of transportation. We are committed to delivering modern, high-quality services that meet the evolving needs of Polish travelers.”
