This Saturday, August 3rd, marks a significant event in Polish history as cyclists gather to pay tribute to the heroes of the Warsaw Uprising, which took place 80 years ago. The Masa Powstańcza 2024 will commemorate this pivotal moment in Polish history, and cyclists from all over the country are invited to join the ride.
The event, organized by the Warsaw Uprising Museum, will begin at 17:00 at the Park of Freedom, located near the museum. Participants will embark on a 20-kilometer route that will take them through the historic streets of Warsaw, passing by important landmarks associated with the Komenda Główna Armii Krajowej, the Polish resistance movement.
The cycle route will cover some of the most significant sites, including:
* Wytwórni mebli L. Kamler, where the Resistance had its headquarters
* Publiczna Szkoła Powszechna Nr 110, where the Polish resistance fighters held meetings
* Pałac Raczyńskich, which served as the Ministry of Justice before 1939
* Centralna Pocztowa Kasa Oszczędności, a major gathering point for the resistance
* Stacja Telefonów Miejskich, a key communication hub during the uprising
