Lidl, one of the leading retail chains in Poland, is marking its 20-year anniversary in the country with a unique marketing campaign. As part of this campaign, the company has commissioned six eco-friendly murals to be painted in some of Poland’s largest cities, including Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw, Poznan, and Gdynia.
20 Years of Quality and Affordable Products
Lidl has been operating in Poland since 2002, offering high-quality products at affordable prices to millions of customers across the country. Over the years, the company has built a reputation for providing excellent customer service, innovative products, and commitment to sustainability.
Eco-Friendly Murals: A New Form of Communication
The murals, created by Grupa RW – MalujemyMurale.pl, are not only visually striking but also environmentally friendly. The paint used is specially formulated to reduce air pollution, making them a unique feature of the campaign. According to Aleksandra Robaszkiewicz, Head of Corporate Communications and CSR at Lidl Poland, „We wanted to use a new channel of communication that would not only celebrate our 20-year anniversary but also reflect our values and commitment to sustainability.”
Reducing Air Pollution with KNOxOUT Paint
The murals feature two types of paint: eco-friendly and KNOxOUT, a special paint that actively reduces nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the air. NOx is a highly reactive gas that can cause respiratory problems, especially for children, the elderly, and those with pre-existing respiratory conditions. By using KNOxOUT paint, Lidl is contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment.
How KNOxOUT Paint Works
The KNOxOUT paint contains a photocatalyst (ultra-fine titanium dioxide) that, when exposed to sunlight, breaks down NOx into harmless substances. This means that the painted wall becomes an air purification system powered by sunlight. According to the manufacturer, 1 square meter of wall painted with KNOxOUT paint can reduce NOx emissions by 0.44 grams per day.
A Commitment to Sustainability
Lidl’s commitment to sustainability is reflected in its daily operations, from sourcing products to reducing waste and energy consumption. The company’s eco-friendly murals are just one example of its dedication to minimizing its environmental impact.
Celebrating 20 Years of Excellence
As Lidl celebrates its 20-year anniversary in Poland, the company remains committed to providing high-quality products, excellent customer service, and innovative solutions that benefit both its customers and the environment. With its eco-friendly murals, Lidl is once again demonstrating its commitment to making a positive impact on the communities it serves.
